Building materials manufacturer Medo has released its new Slimline bifold door, engineered to improve spatial perception and aesthetics in residential settings. The company states that the door's minimalist design offers a flexible solution for merging interior and exterior spaces, thereby increasing the feeling of airiness.

The Slimline door features a narrow frame intended to blend into its surroundings, creating a seamless transition between areas. This design is particularly effective in open-plan living rooms and smaller apartments, helping to create an impression of greater space and allowing more natural light to enter. The door is intended to highlight the space itself and its features, such as decor and the outdoors, rather than drawing attention to the door.

For safety, Medo has equipped the door with double-layer explosion-proof glass, designed to shatter into a harmless web pattern. A semi-automatic lock mechanism is integrated, which is described as quiet. The company also emphasizes anti-pinch hinges and ease of cleaning, with features to minimize dust and rust accumulation.

Medo offers two track options for the Slimline door: concealed tracks that leave a nearly invisible floor groove, and floor-height tracks that do not require ceiling support and offer added stability. The concealed system is suitable for spaces using robotic vacuums or where a continuous floor appearance is desired. Floor tracks can also help prevent rain ingress at thresholds to balconies or patios.

Additionally, the door incorporates multi-cavity insulation aimed at regulating temperature and reducing energy consumption for both heating and cooling. An integrated drainage system channels rainwater away from the tracks, simplifying cleanup and protecting flooring. Medo describes these features as part of a systemic approach where the synergy of details contributes to overall comfort.
