Indian e-commerce company Meesho has reported a 68% year-on-year reduction in net loss to 132.5 crore rupees for the second quarter of the 2026-27 financial year. The company’s operating revenue grew by 34% to 4,131.6 crore rupees, while total expenses increased by a more moderate 24% to 4,382.3 crore rupees.

According to Chief Financial Officer Dhiresh Bansal, improved contribution margins were largely driven by lower logistics costs. However, Bansal cautioned that these margins are subject to volatility, as the company frequently passes cost savings to buyers and sellers to maintain competitive pricing. Marketing expenditures also rose significantly during the period, driven by seasonal demand ahead of the festive quarter.

The firm faces ongoing operational challenges, including rising server costs exacerbated by a global shortage of GPUs. Meesho is also contesting a tax demand of 1,499.7 crore rupees for the 2023-24 assessment year, which is currently in the appeals process.

Since its public listing in December 2025, Meesho has continued to diversify its business. The company recently finalized the acquisition of grocery store platform Kirana Club and is actively investing in its AI and financial services subsidiaries to support long-term growth.
