MegazoneCloud and Korean Re Sign Strategic Agreement to Advance AI
AI and cloud company MegazoneCloud has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with reinsurer Korean Re to accelerate AI transformation in the reinsurance business. The agreement focuses on driving operational innovation and identifying new business opportunities.

MegazoneCloud, a company specializing in AI and cloud services, has entered into a strategic agreement with Korean Re, a major global reinsurer, to advance Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation within the reinsurance sector.
The memorandum of understanding, signed on July 22, aims to leverage the combined expertise of both companies in generative AI, big data, and cloud technologies. The collaboration intends to foster operational innovation and enhance productivity across the reinsurance industry. Both parties will also jointly explore and pursue new business opportunities to promote mutual growth and strengthen market competitiveness.
The partnership extends beyond one-time system implementations and includes plans to improve reinsurance contracting and underwriting processes using AI and data solutions. It will also focus on building risk prediction systems through big data analytics and expanding business automation, including AI-powered Robotic Process Automation (RPA), within a cloud-native environment. Development of new financial business models using globally connected infrastructure is also a key objective.
MegazoneCloud will support Korean Re's operational advancements by integrating AI across its end-to-end reinsurance processes. The initiative aims to deliver tangible benefits, such as increased productivity and cost reductions, by embedding AI into core functions like underwriting and rate setting.
Korean Re has identified AI as a crucial driver for its future market competitiveness. The company has previously collaborated with MegazoneCloud on projects like developing an AI assistant for commercial insurance rate calculation, which has received regulatory approval for testing. The partnership also involves establishing robust and secure AI infrastructure within the financial sector's regulatory framework.
