Meizu Maintains Original Prices for In-Stock Models Amid Memory Chip Cost Increases
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu announced it will keep the prices of its current models unchanged despite rising memory chip costs. This decision applies to the Meizu Note16, Meizu 22, and Meizu 22 Guihang limited edition.
Meizu, a Chinese smartphone maker, announced on Monday that the prices for its currently available phone models will remain unchanged. This decision comes as the industry faces rising costs for memory chips, prompting some manufacturers to increase their retail prices.
The Meizu Note16, Meizu 22, and the Meizu 22 Guihang limited edition will continue to be sold at their original prices. The company also stated that these models are eligible for national purchasing subsidies, which will further reduce the final cost for consumers.
The increase in memory chip prices has been a notable factor in the smartphone market. While Meizu did not elaborate on the specific reasons for maintaining prices, the move could be aimed at securing market share or rewarding its customer base.
The Meizu Note 16 features a 6600mAh battery, 40W fast charging, and a 6.78-inch 120Hz display. The Meizu 22 includes a 6.3-inch 1.5K 120Hz screen, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, a 5500mAh battery, and supports 80W wired and 66W wireless fast charging. The Meizu 22 Guihang limited edition is a collaborative model with the China State Shipbuilding Corporation's 714th Research Institute.
