Melanie Kehr takes on additional responsibility for KfW's domestic business
KfW Executive Board member Melanie Kehr will assume additional responsibility for domestic promotional business from May 1, 2025, following Katharina Herrmann's departure.
KfW, the German development bank, announced that Melanie Kehr, currently responsible for IT and Operations on the Executive Board, will take on additional responsibilities for the domestic promotional business effective May 1, 2025. This change occurs as Katharina Herrmann resigns from her position for personal reasons on April 30, 2025.
Herrmann, who has been responsible for KfW's domestic promotional business, stated her departure is by mutual agreement and at her own request. She cited changes within the German federal government as a suitable moment to hand over her mandate, wishing her successor success.
Melanie Kehr, a board member since March 2019, will continue to oversee IT and Operations while managing the domestic business until a successor is appointed. KfW CEO Stefan Wintels thanked Herrmann for her contributions and emphasized the continuity and new direction represented by Kehr's expanded role, focusing on Germany's competitiveness.
Kehr expressed her readiness for the additional responsibility, acknowledging the significant tasks ahead for the country and thanking the board for their trust. Her tenure has included initiating KfW's agile transformation from an IT perspective. Herrmann's period saw a successful restructuring of the domestic promotional business.
