The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is hosting its annual Miles for Melanoma 5K event in Chicago on July 19, 2026, aiming to raise $100,000 for melanoma research, education, and advocacy.

The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) will host its annual Miles for Melanoma 5K event in Chicago on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Diversey Harbor. The event aims to bring together melanoma patients, survivors, caregivers, and supporters to raise funds and awareness for the disease.
The fundraiser has set a goal of $100,000 to support critical research, education, and advocacy efforts. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive free skin spot checks from local partners City of Hope Chicago and Endeavor Health, emphasizing the importance of early detection.
"Early detection remains one of the most powerful tools in the fight against melanoma," stated the MRF. Freedom Boat Club, in partnership with Brunswick, is the local presenting sponsor, and Dina Bair, Co-Anchor of WGN Midday News, will serve as the event's emcee.
The MRF is also highlighting the importance of sun safety and annual dermatological screenings. Registration is open, with participants receiving a Miles for Melanoma t-shirt. The regular registration rate deadline is July 16, 2026.
