Mellody Farm Harvest Festival Returns Oct. 24 With Music, Food, and Adoptions

Mellody Farm in Vernon Hills is holding its annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 24. The day-long event, running from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., combines autumn activities, live entertainment, food and beverage experiences, and pet-friendly programming.

The festival will offer free activities throughout the day, followed by ticketed "Harvest Festival Bites & Sips" and "Bourbon & Bonfires" experiences from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hawthorn School District PTO.

A central feature is the "Mellody Farm Harvest Haul," an experience encouraging guests to collect stickers from participating businesses and activities. Those who complete a card will receive a free fall-themed Mellody Farm item and be entered into a drawing for a grand prize family getaway to Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa.

The day also includes an "Illinois Agriculture & Urban Farm Zone" with a workshop on winterizing gardens. "Yappy Hour" from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. focuses on canine guests, featuring a pet costume contest and collaboration with PAWS Chicago.

In the evening, starting at 4 p.m., the festival continues with live music by Big Boss and the Toes and the "Harvest Festival Bites & Sips" featuring offerings from local restaurants. A separate "Bourbon & Bonfires" event will focus on bourbon tastings and education. Tickets for paid events start at $35.
