Mercedes-AMG G 63 Cabriolet Images Show Soft-Top Down
Mercedes-AMG has released new images of the G 63 Cabriolet, displaying the vehicle with its soft-top retracted. The model has been confirmed and is expected to feature a V8 engine.
Mercedes-AMG has unveiled new photographs of its forthcoming G 63 Cabriolet, showcasing the vehicle with its soft-top stowed. The model has been confirmed as a production vehicle and is anticipated to be powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
The latest images reveal the G-Class Cabriolet's retractable soft-top mechanism. When lowered, the top folds neatly beneath the spare wheel housing at the rear of the vehicle. The design retains a fixed metal structure above the front seats, with a prominent rollover protection structure located behind the rear seats. The third brake light is now integrated into the spare tire cover.
The model's designation, G63 Cabriolet, was confirmed earlier this spring. Specifications suggest it will utilize the same 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, producing 577 horsepower (430 kW), with an expected peak torque of 849 Nm.
While an official release date has not yet been announced, the G 63 Cabriolet represents a unique, open-air variant of the G-Class lineup. Initial information regarding a soft-top G-Class emerged in September 2025 with the sighting of a camouflaged test vehicle.
