Mercedes-Benz has launched the new AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ in China, replacing its four-cylinder predecessor with a 3.0-liter inline-six engine. The vehicle is priced at 599,000 yuan.

Mercedes-Benz has debuted the latest AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ in China, marking the return of a six-cylinder engine to the manufacturer's performance SUV lineup. The vehicle shifts from the previous 2.0-liter four-cylinder setup to an M256 Evo 3.0-liter inline-six engine integrated with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
The powertrain delivers 330 kW of power and 600 Nm of torque, with an overboost function capable of pushing torque to 640 Nm for short intervals. Paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, the SUV achieves a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.2 seconds. Standard equipment includes rear-axle steering to improve handling precision across speed ranges.
Chassis features include an adaptive damping system and an electronically controlled rear limited-slip differential. An optional performance package introduces a drift mode—a first for this SUV class—along with race-oriented driving modes and upgraded braking components. The vehicle is currently available for 599,000 yuan.
