Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ to Launch October 29
Mercedes-AMG will release the GLC 53 4MATIC+ model, featuring a new 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged engine. The vehicle is scheduled to launch in China on October 29.

Mercedes-AMG has announced the upcoming launch of its GLC 53 4MATIC+ model in China on October 29. This new variant will feature a significantly upgraded powertrain, replacing the previous 2.0-liter engine with a more potent 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged unit.
The new 3.0-liter engine delivers a maximum output of 455 horsepower and 600 Newton-meters of torque. It incorporates a 7.5 kW electric auxiliary compressor alongside a traditional exhaust-driven turbocharger. In an "overboost" mode, peak torque can be temporarily increased to 640 Newton-meters for up to 10 seconds. An integrated starter-generator (ISG) provides an additional 17 kW and 205 Nm of power assistance, enhancing throttle response and contributing to fuel efficiency. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The chassis is equipped with AMG's proprietary Dynamic Select handling system, AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, and AMG RIDE CONTROL adaptive damping suspension. An optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package unlocks RACE mode, active engine mounts, an electronically controlled rear-axle differential, and introduces a Drift Mode for the first time in an AMG SUV.
For comparison, the current AMG GLC 43 4MATIC model utilizes a 2.0-liter engine producing 421 horsepower and 500 Newton-meters of torque. The new GLC 53 4MATIC+ represents a substantial increase in power and performance.
