Mercuria Energy Group Closes JPY 145.3 Billion Loan Facility
Mercuria Energy Group Limited announced the successful closing of a new JPY 145.3 billion three-year Samurai term loan facility. The facility will refinance the company's previous loan and is intended for general corporate purposes.

Mercuria Energy Group Limited announced on Tuesday the successful closing of a new JPY 145.3 billion (approximately EUR 950 million) three-year Samurai term loan facility. The facility is set to refinance Mercuria's JPY 130.9 billion Samurai loan signed in 2024.
The loan will also be used for Mercuria Energy Group's general corporate purposes. The facility was arranged with the participation of several major Japanese and international banks, signalling confidence in the company's business model and growth prospects.
Samurai loans are debt instruments issued in Japanese yen by non-Japanese entities on the Japanese bond market. This transaction strengthens Mercuria's financial position and supports its ongoing international operations and expansion.
As one of the world's largest independent energy traders, Mercuria has stated its intention to increase its involvement in renewable energy sectors. This new financing arrangement provides resources to pursue these strategic objectives.
