Meta acquires AI coding startup Conductor
Meta has acquired Conductor, an AI coding startup that enables multi-agent software development. The company’s cloud services will shut down on November 20.

Meta has confirmed the acquisition of Conductor, a startup specializing in AI-driven software development tools. The platform allows engineers to deploy multiple AI agents to work simultaneously on different components of a project, utilizing models from providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
Conductor founder and CEO Charlie Holtz announced the move through the company’s blog, confirming that the team will join Meta's Superintelligence Labs. While specific financial terms were not disclosed, the move aligns with the tech giant’s recent aggressive push into AI-supported development tools, including its existing Muse Code agent.
Following the acquisition, Conductor will terminate its cloud-based service on November 20, at which point user data will be deleted. The company’s core features are expected to remain functional for existing users until early next year.
The integration highlights Meta's ongoing strategy to bolster its AI development capabilities. As the company competes with other major technology firms, it is increasingly relying on acquisitions to integrate specialized talent and proprietary agentic workflows into its product ecosystem.
