Meta develops humanoid robot prototype in partnership with Fourier
Meta has partnered with Chinese firm Fourier to build a humanoid robot prototype, part of an internal research initiative into household robotics.

Meta is currently developing a humanoid robot prototype, identified as "Max," in collaboration with the Chinese robotics company Fourier. The project is centered on creating machines capable of executing household tasks, marking a shift in Meta's hardware research focus.
The prototype stands approximately five feet tall and features expressive facial components, chest-mounted speakers, and articulated hands designed for fine motor tasks, such as grasping small objects. Development of the initial unit reportedly spanned three months, and work on a second iteration is already underway.
While the project signals Meta's interest in the consumer robotics sector, the company has not established a commercial release timeline. These units are strictly for research and development purposes, reflecting the broader industry trend of large technology firms investing in embodied AI and robotics hardware.
