Meta Launches AI Tools for Mobile Game Creation

Meta has introduced two new AI-powered tools, Horizon Create and Horizon Studio, designed to simplify game development directly on smartphones. The company announced the expansion of its Horizon platform features at the Connect 2026 event.

Horizon Create functions as a mobile application that rapidly generates game prototypes based on user prompts. Horizon Studio is a browser-based editor offering more granular control for refining projects. Both tools are intended to allow creators to translate ideas into complete 2D or 3D mobile games.

Meta stated that games developed with these tools can incorporate features such as progression systems, balanced difficulty, and multiplayer capabilities. The company has not yet announced an official release date for the tools, which will initially be available as early access. Interested users can sign up for a waitlist.

The company also plans to broaden the distribution of Horizon games. Titles created and published using these tools will be featured in recommendations across Facebook and Instagram. Users will be able to play these games directly within the social media platforms, eliminating the need to download separate applications or navigate to external sites.
