Meta launches Pocket app for AI-powered game creation
Meta has released the Pocket mobile app, enabling users to create interactive content via text prompts. The app aims to make game development accessible to those without coding experience.

Meta has launched Pocket, a new mobile application designed to simplify the creation of interactive content using artificial intelligence. The app allows users to generate functional "gizmos" by providing text-based prompts, eliminating the need for traditional coding.
The Pocket app utilizes a "vibe coding" approach, where AI assists in the software development process. Meta acquired the team behind the now-defunct vibe-coding app Gizmo earlier this year, and Pocket is built upon this foundation. The application was released in the U.S. on Friday, August 21.
Users can create playable prototypes and share them within the app's social media-style feed, which features likes, comments, and reposts. This format aims to encourage user interaction and content sharing.
While Pocket offers a quick way to prototype game ideas, users may find their creations are contained within Meta's ecosystem. The current structure provides limited options for exporting or independently developing these AI-generated projects further.
