Meta removes influencer pages in Philippines linked to illegal gambling
Meta has removed multiple Facebook pages belonging to Filipino influencers found to be promoting unregulated and illicit betting platforms.

Meta has taken down a series of high-profile Facebook pages managed by Filipino influencers. The social media company stated that these accounts were in violation of its community standards and local laws by actively promoting unlicensed online gambling websites.
The action follows a broader regulatory crackdown led by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). Philippine authorities have increasingly targeted unlicensed operators, warning that both the platform providers and those marketing them on social media face legal consequences.
PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro Tengco stated that the move demonstrates the necessity of collaboration between government regulators and technology firms. The initiative is intended to curb illegal gambling activities and prevent the exposure of minors and vulnerable populations to unregulated betting risks.
