Meta stock posts best month since 2022 on AI momentum
Meta Platforms' stock achieved its best monthly performance since 2022, as investors reacted positively to the company's advancements in artificial intelligence.

Meta Platforms' stock concluded September with its strongest monthly gain since 2022, fueled by investor optimism surrounding the company's artificial intelligence (AI) developments. The stock saw a 27% increase during September, closing the month at $725.18.
The surge is largely attributed to the recent launch of its personal AI agent app, Muse, in early September. Muse quickly gained traction, surpassing OpenAI's ChatGPT in downloads on Apple iOS devices.
The last time Meta Platforms experienced such a significant monthly rise in its stock was in November 2022, a period when the company was undergoing efficiency drives after a challenging year.
During Meta's annual Connect conference for developers in September, CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted Muse as a cornerstone of the company's strategy. New hardware products, including the Muse Charm AI pendant, were also unveiled.
The company is positioning itself to capitalize on the burgeoning AI agent market. Competitors, including OpenAI, are also making moves in this space. Meta has further bolstered its enterprise AI efforts by hiring former MongoDB CEO C.J. Desai to lead its new Meta Enterprise Platform business unit.
