Meta Platforms on Wednesday unveiled its new VR glasses and a compact AI assistant device named Muse Charm. CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed the products at the company's annual Connect developer conference.
The new Meta VR Glasses are priced at $1,299 and are set to go on sale in spring 2027. They are designed to be slimmer and lighter than the company's previous Quest-branded VR headsets. The glasses feature integrated eye and hand-tracking sensors, reducing the need for controllers.
Meta also introduced the Muse Charm, a handheld device intended to interact with the company's recently launched Muse AI personal agent. Zuckerberg described the device as the fastest way to communicate with the Muse agent without needing to use a phone. Specifics on pricing and a release date were not provided, but it is expected to be available for the holiday season.
The Muse Charm is powered by an external puck containing a Qualcomm processor and battery, which allows for the glasses' reduced weight and size. The glasses also offer improved visual fidelity compared to earlier Quest models.
The announcements underscore Meta's continued investment in virtual reality and its simultaneous push into AI agents, which the company views as a key component of future technology.
