MetaOptics to Deploy Direct Laser Writer at University of Arizona
MetaOptics Ltd. announced it will deploy its Direct Laser Writer (DLW) system at the University of Arizona's Center of Semiconductor Manufacturing. The move supports the company's U.S. expansion and prototyping capabilities.

Singapore – MetaOptics Ltd. has entered into an agreement to deploy its Direct Laser Writer (DLW) system at the University of Arizona's Center of Semiconductor Manufacturing. The installation is slated to begin in 2027.
The DLW system is designed for 4-inch wafers, enabling rapid prototyping and fabrication of metalens samples within weeks. It also supports small-volume production and evaluation of customer demand, accelerating partner product development.
The deployment is seen as a critical step in MetaOptics' U.S. expansion strategy and its commercialization roadmap. It will provide prospective U.S. customers the opportunity to witness the system in action for their metalens prototyping needs.
MetaOptics Executive Chairman Thng Chong Kim stated the deployment will strengthen technical validation and gather valuable user feedback, supporting the company's broader U.S. expansion efforts.
