Meta's AI assistant Muse reached over 5 million downloads in the United States within 22 days of its launch. The app topped the U.S. App Store's free chart.
Meta's AI assistant, Muse, achieved more than 5 million downloads in the United States in approximately three weeks, becoming the fastest AI application to reach this milestone in the U.S. market. The app also secured the top spot on the U.S. App Store's free chart, maintaining its position for 12 consecutive days, according to data from market intelligence firm Sensor Tower.
Kara Lee, senior insights analyst at Sensor Tower, predicted that Muse would surpass 5 million downloads on September 30, taking 22 days. This is significantly faster than other prominent AI applications, with ChatGPT reaching the same number in 56 days, Grok in 103 days, and Claude in 492 days.
Sensor Tower data indicates that only 23 applications have exceeded 5 million downloads within 22 days of launch in the U.S. Approximately 85% of these were mobile games, including titles like "Fortnite" and "Pokémon GO." The non-gaming apps that achieved this feat were Disney+, HBO Max, and Threads.
Muse is defined as an "intelligent agent AI assistant" capable of performing multi-step tasks on behalf of users. Its functionalities include browsing the web, sending emails, online shopping, filling out forms, and booking travel itineraries. Meta increased its advertising spend for Muse starting September 16, resulting in a 73% month-over-month increase in downloads on that day.
