Meticulous raises $15 million for AI code review

Meticulous, a London-based software company, has announced the closing of a $15 million Series A funding round. The investment was led by venture capital firm Chemistry, with participation from Menlo Ventures.

The company develops a platform designed to help software developers review and test AI-generated code more rapidly and with greater confidence. Meticulous addresses the challenge where advanced AI agents are producing code faster than human teams can effectively review and test it, leading to deployment delays and potential bugs.

Their tool analyzes codebases and application workflows to identify potential edge cases and risks. Each code change is simulated to test its impact across various user scenarios before being merged into the main codebase, providing developers with a visual report illustrating the effects of the changes.

Meticulous's founders bring prior experience from companies like Palantir and Dropbox. The company reported a fivefold increase in its annual recurring revenue (ARR) over the past year, with notable customers including Notion and ElevenLabs.

The funding will be allocated to expanding marketing efforts, investing in research and development to cover backend and performance testing, and increasing headcount. The company plans to grow its team from 20 to between 30 and 40 employees within the next year.
