METLEN, through its defense arm M Technologies, has entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with Cyprus-based Houtris to establish new industrial capabilities in defense systems within the Republic of Cyprus. The agreement, signed on July 23, 2026, outlines the creation of a joint venture intended to bolster strategic industrial cooperation in the defense sector between Cyprus and Greece.
The new entity will focus on expanding production capacity on the island and enhancing the Cypriot industry's ability to manufacture, integrate, and maintain defense equipment. This collaboration merges M Technologies' international experience and advanced industrial capacity with Houtris's long-standing industrial expertise and manufacturing capabilities in Cyprus.
The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge transfer and skills development within Cyprus's defense industry, aiming to accelerate the establishment of large-scale production capabilities for integrated defense systems. Notably, the venture will advance the production of military vehicles under the European SAFE program.
M Technologies, METLEN's defense division, has a track record of executing complex defense programs, contributing to the production and maintenance of advanced systems such as Patriot missile systems, Leopard tanks, and components for Belharra frigates.
