Metsä Board again listed among Financial Times Europe's Climate Leaders
Metsä Board has once again been recognized in the Financial Times ranking of Europe's Climate Leaders, which identifies companies that have advanced in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity.

Metsä Board has been included for another year in the Financial Times Europe's Climate Leaders ranking. This recognition highlights European companies that have demonstrated significant progress in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions intensity.
The Financial Times list specifically identifies companies that have achieved reductions in GHG emissions intensity over a multi-year period. Additionally, these companies must meet further criteria related to transparency and their climate commitments.
"Being recognised once again on the Financial Times Climate Leaders list reflects the direction we have taken in setting science-based targets and focusing on concrete actions to reduce GHG emissions," stated Esa Kaikkonen, CEO of Metsä Board.
Metsä Board recently updated its near-term emissions reduction targets, which have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in line with limiting global warming to 1.5°C. These updated targets underscore the company's objective to phase out the use of fossil energy in its production and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout its own operations and the entire value chain.
The ranking is based on publicly available and verified emissions data reported by participating companies. The full listing and methodology are available on the Financial Times website.
