A Christmas calendar, designed by Metsä Board Oyj in collaboration with cosmetics manufacturer Lumene and packaging group Van Genechten Packaging, has won the prestigious ScanStar packaging award. The award acknowledges the product's innovative design and the sustainable materials used.
The winning packaging was produced using Metsä Board's renewable and recyclable folding boxboards. The MetsäBoard Prime FBB Bright and MetsäBoard Pro FBB Bright grades, chosen for their excellent surface smoothness and high whiteness, ensure the winter landscape depicted on the calendar's outer packaging and wrap-around band appears vibrant.
The ScanStar competition, organized annually by the Scandinavian Packaging Association, focuses on the usability, sustainability, and attractiveness of packaging within the Nordic region. Winning a ScanStar award provides companies with the opportunity to enter the international WorldStar packaging competition.
Metsä Board is a producer of lightweight and high-quality folding boxboards and white kraftliners, emphasizing the use of renewable fiber raw materials. The company aims for fully fossil-free mills and raw materials by 2030.
