Metsä Board completes acquisition of Winschoten Hub in Netherlands

Metsä Board Oyj has today completed the acquisition of the Winschoten Sheeting and Distribution Hub in the Netherlands from Konvertia Group. The transaction, initially announced on January 23, 2026, enhances Metsä Board’s capacity for sheeting operations and improves its service offerings within the European market.

The Winschoten facility stands as one of Europe’s largest and most advanced hubs for sheeting and distribution. It possesses an annual capacity of approximately 100,000 tonnes and currently employs 22 individuals. The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed by the parties involved.

Following the completion of the deal, Metsä Board will proceed with the integration of the Winschoten Hub into its existing European operations. Such integration is a key component of Metsä Board's strategy to improve service speed and supply reliability across its primary European growth markets.
