Metsä Board Oyj, a producer of packaging board, is considering a potential issuance of senior unsecured green notes. The contemplated notes are expected to be in the principal amount of EUR 200–250 million.
The company intends to use the net proceeds from the potential note issuance to finance or refinance eligible green projects or assets, in line with Metsä Group's Green Finance Framework. This framework was established in 2019 and updated in July 2024.
The potential issuance is subject to market conditions and is expected to occur in the near future. Metsä Board has not provided a specific timeline for the offering.
Danske Bank A/S and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (publ) are acting as joint lead managers for the potential issuance. Metsä Board focuses on lightweight, high-quality folding boxboards and aims for fossil-free mills by 2030.
