Metsä Board material wins WorldStar award for retail display
A retail display for Fazer Aito oat drinks, designed by Adara Pakkaus using Metsä Board's kraftliner, has received a WorldStar Packaging Award.
Helsinki – A point-of-sale display designed by Adara Pakkaus for Fazer Aito oat drinks has won a WorldStar Packaging Award. The display utilizes Metsä Board's MetsäBoard Pro WKL white kraftliner.
The awarded display is designed for durability in retail environments and features a high-quality print surface for product presentation. Kaisa Pietilä, Packaging Designer at Adara Pakkaus, stated that structural stability was a key design consideration. "A tall and narrow display can be unstable, which we solved by dividing the hood/base section into two parts and creating lateral support between them," Pietilä explained.
Metsä Board's WKL liner is highlighted for its printability and durability. "MetsäBoard Pro WKL is known for its high-quality printing surface, ensuring excellent printability, durability, and a long-lasting, premium look in retail environments," said Aaro Åivo, WKL Account Manager at Metsä Board.
Fazer aims to reduce packaging material use, and Piia Tiainen, Senior Manager for Packaging Development at Fazer, noted the display's material efficiency and multipurpose design contribute to this goal. Furthermore, the display's design optimizes pallet space, reducing transport costs and emissions due to minimized volume and weight.
The packaging solution was recognized for its material efficiency, durability, and logistical benefits, which also align with EU packaging legislation objectives.
