Metsä Board Corporation reported a sales revenue of EUR 825.6 million for the first half of 2026, a 12.2% decrease compared to EUR 940.9 million in the same period of 2025. The company stated that the profitability improvement was in line with expectations.
The comparable EBITDA stood at EUR 47.0 million, down from EUR 57.3 million in the prior year, representing 5.7% of sales compared to 6.1%. The comparable operating result was negative at EUR -7.7 million, a decline from EUR 0.1 million in the first half of 2025.
The company attributed the weaker result primarily to increased production costs and reduced delivery volumes. Metsä Board anticipates a similar level of profitability for the second half of 2026.
Comparable earnings per share were EUR -0.04, compared to EUR -0.02 in the previous year. The comparable return on capital employed was -0.4%.
