Metsä Board Oyj has announced the termination of its credit rating agreement with S&P Global Ratings and has requested the agency to withdraw its credit rating.
The company stated that a credit rating from a single agency is sufficient to support its financing and access to capital markets. This decision is also in line with the company's ongoing transformation program aimed at cost reduction and operational simplification.
At the time of the request, S&P Global Ratings' credit rating for Metsä Board was BBB- with a negative outlook. Metsä Board will continue to be rated by Moody's Ratings, which currently assigns the company a Baa3 rating with a negative outlook.
Metsä Board is a producer of lightweight, high-quality folding boxboards, food service boards, and white kraftliners. The company's shares are listed on Nasdaq Helsinki.
