Metsä Group appoints Jukka Flinkman as manager of Äänekoski bioproduct mill

Jukka Flinkman is set to lead the Äänekoski bioproduct mill starting March 1, 2027. He joins the firm from UPM, where he currently serves as Director of Operations at the Rauma paper mill. Flinkman's professional background includes experience in production management across the pulp and paper sectors, notably having served as Production Manager at UPM’s Kymi pulp mill.

Flinkman succeeds Janne Rantanen, who is departing the company to pursue opportunities outside of the Metsä Group. The Äänekoski mill represents a core facility for Metsä Fibre, focusing on bioproduct manufacturing.

This leadership transition comes as the Finnish forestry industry continues to navigate shifting demand for pulp-based products. Flinkman will oversee operational management at the site, reporting to the leadership team at Metsä Fibre.
