Metsä Tissue Reveals UK Sustainability Awards Shortlist
Metsä Tissue has unveiled the shortlisted entries for its UK Sustainability Awards competition. The awards programme attracted 64 entries from 43 companies.

Metsä Tissue's operations in the UK have announced the finalists for its Sustainability Awards competition, held in partnership with the Cleaning & Services Support Association. The programme received 64 entries from 43 companies following its launch last autumn.
The awards recognise achievements across several categories, including Carbon Reduction, Social Value, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Marketing Initiative, Team Sustainability, and Individual Sustainability. Among the shortlisted companies are notable names in the cleaning and support services sector, such as Evans Vanodine, Mitie, Lyreco, and Rubbermaid Commercial Products.
Mika Paljakka, Senior Vice President for Metsä Tissue UK & Ireland, noted the strong response to the awards despite their recent introduction. "We are delighted that the cleaning and hygiene industry is going to such great lengths to embrace sustainability in its practices," Paljakka stated. He also highlighted the competition's role in sharing industry best practices and enhancing the sector's public image.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for March 15th aboard the historic Cutty Sark in Greenwich, and the event is already sold out. Due to high demand, Metsä Tissue has also provisionally booked dates for next year's ceremony, which will coincide with The Cleaning Show in London in March 2025, potentially at a new, larger, carbon-neutral venue.
