Metsä Tissue to Restructure Organization, Initiate Consultations

Metsä Tissue announced plans for organizational changes to align with a new management model introduced in December 2025. The company stated the reform aims to support growth and enhance the utilization of production capacity, with no impact on the tissue paper business.

The planned changes necessitate the initiation of consultation processes in all of Metsä Tissue's European operating countries. However, the company emphasized that no factory closures are planned.

"This reform strengthens our ability to serve our customers even better in a changing market," said CEO Sari Pajari-Sederholm in a press release.

Metsä Tissue employs approximately 2,400 people across Europe. Preliminary estimates suggest the changes could lead to a reduction of about 50 jobs, with final decisions pending the outcome of the consultations.
