Metsäliitto Cooperative increases stake in Metsä Fibre
Metsä Group's parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, has acquired a 5.1% stake in Metsä Fibre Oy from Itochu Corporation. The transaction raises Metsäliitto Cooperative's ownership in Metsä Fibre to 55.2%.
Metsä Group's parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, completed a transaction on February 4, 2026, acquiring a 5.1% stake in Metsä Fibre Oy from Itochu Corporation.
Following the acquisition, Metsäliitto Cooperative's ownership in Metsä Fibre has increased to 55.2% of the total share capital. Itochu Corporation now holds 19.9% of Metsä Fibre's total share capital, while Metsä Board Corporation's ownership remains unchanged at 24.9%.
Itochu Corporation will continue as a committed minority shareholder in the company. The long-term commercial cooperation between Metsä Group and Itochu is expected to continue.
