Metso crusher helps finish Wisconsin highway project two weeks early

A highway recycling project near La Crosse, Wisconsin, saw its aggregate crushing process completed two weeks ahead of schedule due to the performance of Metso Oyj's Lokotrack LT1213S mobile impact crusher. Gerke Excavating, the contractor responsible for the roadway replacement, utilized the equipment.

Gerke Excavating initially faced challenges meeting production demands and project timelines with their previous crusher. The state of Wisconsin's specifications for recycled concrete aggregate required higher output than their existing machinery could provide.

Metso's distributor, RB Scott Company, was able to quickly provide a rental unit of the LT1213S. The new crusher was deployed and immediately demonstrated superior production capacity, allowing Gerke Excavating to catch up and surpass their schedule.

Impressed with the performance of the rented unit, Gerke Excavating subsequently purchased the Lokotrack LT1213S for use on future projects, including limestone quarry operations.
