Metso launches calculator for froth management value

Metso Oyj has launched a new digital tool, the Froth Management Value Calculator, enabling companies in the mining sector to estimate the potential added value and sustainability benefits of their froth management solutions.

The calculator allows clients to input their data and receive an estimate of potential increased revenue, improved recovery rates, reduced carbon emissions, and energy savings. This new tool focuses on Metso's developed froth management solutions, designed to enhance mineral recovery while minimizing environmental impact.

Metso's froth management solutions, such as the center launder upgrade, have previously demonstrated significant results in a customer project at Hudbay Minerals' Constancia mine, earning the Services and Support category award from Mining Magazine in 2021. These solutions optimize the froth zone by minimizing crowding and reducing froth transport distance, thereby improving process efficiency and profitability.

Several customer case studies, including improved copper and molybdenum recovery at the Kennecott mine and an average 22% reduction in operating costs at the New Afton mine, highlight the tangible benefits of Metso's offerings. The new calculator aims to make assessing these values more accessible and straightforward for prospective clients.
