Metso Lokotrack Urban reduces noise and dust in construction areas
Metso Oyj's Lokotrack Urban LT106S mobile crushing and screening plant enables stone crushing in built-up areas by reducing noise and dust.

Metso Oyj has introduced the Lokotrack Urban LT106S mobile crushing and screening plant, designed specifically for urban environments. The unit reduces noise by up to 60% compared to conventional crushers and minimizes dust dispersion.
Norwegian construction company Martin Rønning AS utilized the equipment on a project in Lier to avoid transporting rocks to a remote location for crushing and then back to the site. This solution significantly cut transportation costs and time while enabling more efficient use of local materials.
Traditionally, noise restrictions have complicated crushing operations in densely populated areas. The Lokotrack Urban LT106S's noise suppression features and dust management system, including internal water spraying, facilitate permit acquisition and allow crushing to proceed near residential zones.
The introduction of Metso's new unit enhances worksite efficiency and creates opportunities for construction firms to offer services in urban areas with strict environmental regulations. The plant also supports the circular economy and reduces transport emissions through improved energy efficiency.
