Metso Reports Record Sales for Energy-Efficient Grinding Technology

Metso Oyj reported record sales for its stirred mill technology in 2025, as mining customers increasingly opted for energy-efficient grinding solutions. The minerals processing industry is showing growing demand for optimized technology combinations that reduce carbon emissions and improve productivity.

The company's Vertimill® and HIGmill™ stirred mills, combined with high-pressure grinding (HPGR) technology, offer a more efficient comminution process compared to conventional ball mills. In 2025, Metso sold over twenty Vertimill units with a combined installed power of 67 MW. These mills can achieve up to 35% energy savings, potentially reducing annual CO2 emissions by approximately 135,000 metric tons.

These technologies are part of Metso's Metso Plus offering, which aims to provide significant environmental performance improvements.
