Metso Oyj announced a robust performance for the first half of 2026, driven by a significant increase in orders received, particularly in its Minerals segment. Sales and profitability also saw notable growth.

Metso Reports Strong First Half of 2026 with Increased Orders

Helsinki – Metso Oyj, a company specializing in crushing and mineral processing solutions, reported a strong financial performance for the first half and second quarter of 2026, ending June 30. The company's orders received saw substantial growth, reflecting strong customer activity, particularly within the Minerals segment.

In the second quarter, Metso's orders received increased by 18% to EUR 1,462 million compared to the same period last year. This order growth was primarily driven by a 24% increase in the Minerals segment, while orders in the Aggregates segment saw a modest 1% rise. Sales grew by 6% to EUR 1,334 million, and adjusted EBITA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) rose to EUR 221 million, improving the margin to 16.6% from 14.5%. Operating profit was EUR 185 million, and cash flow from operations was a strong EUR 206 million.

For the entire first half of 2026, orders received increased by 12% to EUR 3,017 million. Aggregates orders grew by 6%, and the Minerals segment saw a 14% increase. Sales grew by 5% to EUR 2,587 million. Adjusted EBITA improved by 13% to EUR 424 million, with a margin of 16.4% of sales.

President and CEO Sami Takaluoma stated that the second quarter performed largely as expected. He highlighted the strong demand in the Minerals segment, driven by both aftermarket activity and equipment purchases. Takaluoma also noted the company's continued investments in customer proximity, expanding its presence in Argentina and North America, and developing its service centers. Metso anticipates market activity to remain at the current level for the next six months.
