Metso to Deliver Copper Processing Technology to Viscaria Mine in Sweden

Metso Oyj has entered into an agreement with Gruvaktiebolaget Viscaria for the supply of process equipment to the Viscaria copper mine located in Kiruna, Sweden. This deal supports the project's progression into its execution phase.

The order is valued at approximately EUR 40 million and will be booked in Metso's Minerals segment's third-quarter orders received. Viscaria aims to produce 120,000 tonnes of copper concentrate annually, positioning it to become Sweden's second-largest copper producer.

The scope of the delivery includes a comprehensive suite of Metso's copper and iron ore processing solutions. This encompasses a crushing station, a flotation circuit featuring Metso's flotation technology, magnetic separators, and a filtration plant. Metso previously secured an order for grinding mills for the mine.

Charlotte Odenberger, COO of Viscaria, stated that the continued cooperation with Metso marks a significant step in the project's development and transition to the execution phase. She added that consolidating the delivery of all process equipment into a single contract enhances project execution predictability.
