Metso to supply copper hydrometallurgy technology to North America

Metso Oyj has signed an agreement for the supply of copper solvent extraction and electrowinning technology to North America. The order, valued at approximately EUR 50 million, has been booked in the company's Minerals segment for the fourth quarter.

The scope of Metso's delivery includes basic engineering and a technology package for its VSF® solvent extraction and electrowinning plants. Additionally, the delivery encompasses advisory services for mechanical installation, commissioning, start-up, and spare parts.

The company stated that the deal represents an important reference project in the growing North American copper market. "We look forward to working on this project," said Mikko Rantaharju, Vice President of Hydrometallurgy at Metso Oyj. The technologies are crucial for copper refining, facilitating efficient metal separation and purification.

This agreement strengthens Metso's position in the North American mineral processing market. The company has previously supplied similar solutions globally, and this contract marks a significant expansion of its operations in a new geographical region.
