Metso Updates Larox FFP Filters for Enhanced Efficiency

Metso Oyj has introduced updates to its Larox FFP membrane filter press series, designed for efficient dewatering of minerals and industrial materials. The new features reportedly improve energy efficiency by up to 10 percent compared to previous models.

The company has also increased the filtration area, which can now reach up to 1,980 square meters, enabling higher throughput in tons per hour. Furthermore, the filters operate under high pressure conditions, up to 16 bars, resulting in lower residual moisture content in the final product.

The Larox FFP filters are utilized in various applications, including the processing of concentrates, tailings, industrial minerals, and coal and metallurgical refineries. Metso states that the series' modular design and automated operation also reduce maintenance requirements and operating costs.

Metso has a long-standing commitment to filtration solutions. The company's Dewatering Technology Center (DTC) in Lappeenranta serves as a central research and development hub, where over 14,000 filtration tests have been conducted. Metso has supplied more than 5,000 filters globally.
