Metso's Nordberg HPe Cone Crusher Offers Advantages for Heavy-Duty Crushing

Metso Oyj has solidified its position in crushing technology with its Nordberg® HPe cone crusher series, specifically engineered for demanding, heavy-duty crushing operations.

Originally launched over 30 years ago, the Nordberg HP series revolutionized cone crusher design by integrating the experiences of previous technologies like Symons and Omnicone with extensive research and field testing. The HPe series is recognized for its high capacity, efficient optimization of speed and throw, and its ability to handle large feed sizes.

Key to Metso's offering are the machines' high availability and reliability. The patented hydraulic tramp release system allows for the passage of very large, uncrushable particles. Additionally, the crushers are designed for top-side maintenance, significantly reducing downtime. Metso reports that the HPe series achieves mechanical availability of 90-95% or higher.

The series' flexibility makes it suitable for a wide range of operations, with models available for applications from small gold mines to large iron ore mines. By changing crushing liners and adjusting motor sheave sizes, the machine can be converted from coarse crushing to secondary or fine crushing, reducing spare parts inventory and allowing for configuration adjustments based on customer needs.
