Michael Brenner appointed editor-in-chief at Badisches Tagblatt
Badisches Tagblatt has named Michael Brenner as its new editor-in-chief. He succeeds Markus Langer, who will pivot to lead the publisher’s digital transformation efforts.

The regional newspaper Badisches Tagblatt has announced a leadership transition, appointing Michael Brenner as its new editor-in-chief, effective immediately. Brenner, who has been with the publication since 1993, will retain his current position as head of the Journal editorial team while assuming his new responsibilities.
Brenner’s predecessor, Markus Langer, will shift his focus toward the strategic development of the company’s online presence and digital platforms. This move aligns with the publisher's ongoing efforts to adapt its business model to evolving reader habits in the digital news environment.
Throughout his tenure, Brenner has held various roles, including local reporter in Bühl and positions within the Baden-Baden newsroom. Alongside his new title, he will also oversee the news desk on an interim basis. The organizational change is intended to streamline the editorial management structure.
