The project, described as a collective and citizen-driven endeavor, has garnered support from various public and private partners, including the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and Clermont Auvergne Métropole. Michelin aims to preserve the site's industrial heritage while repurposing it for future advancements and community benefit.
Key components of the MICHELIN Innovation Park - Cataroux include a Collaborative Innovation Pole (PIC) and a Sustainable Materials Center (CMD). The PIC will offer spaces for co-working, co-living, and collaborative projects, fostering entrepreneurship and the development of impactful ideas. The CMD will focus on advancing sustainable material technologies.
Michelin Group President Florent Menegaux stated that the project exemplifies the necessity of collaboration between public and private actors to address collective challenges.
