Michelin Guide Unveils Inaugural Shenzhen Restaurant Selections
The MICHELIN Guide has released its first joint restaurant selection for Guangzhou and Shenzhen for 2026. Shenzhen makes its debut in the guide with 59 featured restaurants.
The MICHELIN Guide has unveiled its inaugural joint restaurant selection for Guangzhou and Shenzhen for 2026, with the announcement made in Shenzhen. This marks Shenzhen's debut as a destination within the MICHELIN Guide, featuring a total of 176 establishments.
The initial Shenzhen selection includes 59 restaurants, with seven earning Michelin stars. Among these, The Bay by Chef Fei and Yun Jing were awarded two stars each. Additionally, four individual awards were presented, including the first MICHELIN Mentor Chef Award in Guangdong.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, described Shenzhen's entry as a new chapter. He contrasted Guangzhou's deep roots with Shenzhen's dynamic and creative energy, highlighting the diversity of the region's culinary landscape in southern China. The guide aims to expand further within the Greater Bay Area in the future.
Guangzhou retained its 20 MICHELIN-starred restaurants, including three with two stars. Shenzhen's debut selection demonstrates the city's robust dining market, with two two-star and five one-star restaurants in its first listing.
