French tire manufacturer Michelin is enhancing its presence in the mobility services sector by utilizing its extensive data expertise. The company manages the entire data lifecycle, from raw data collection through analysis to the delivery of solutions for its clients.

Michelin's capability to derive value from data stems from a holistic approach that integrates over a century of experience in tire physics and vehicle dynamics with a strong customer service culture. This blend allows for a precise understanding of customer usage conditions and behaviors, leading to accurate data interpretation.

To strengthen data gathering and accelerate progress in data science, Michelin has acquired several telematics companies. Sascar, acquired in 2014, followed by Nextraq, and most recently Masternaut in 2020, are now consolidated under the Michelin Connected Fleet brand. These entities serve over one million trucks and light commercial vehicles.

Additionally, Michelin recently acquired RoadBotics, a US-based startup specializing in road infrastructure image analysis. This acquisition expands the company's offerings to support decision-making for road infrastructure operators, aiming to improve overall mobility.
