Micro Center is set to reopen its Columbus, Ohio, flagship store on August 22, 2026, after undergoing a comprehensive modernization. The store, which has served as the company's original location since 1979, aims to provide an enhanced retail experience for technology enthusiasts.
The remodeled store will include interactive experience centers where customers can test the latest hardware. Highlights include a dedicated Ubiquiti setup for networking gear, an expanded "Build Your Own" department for PC components, hardware tailored for AI development, and an enlarged 3D printer section. The store also features an upgraded "Knowledge Bar" for customer service and workshops.
Designed with product visibility in mind, the new layout will display more inventory and offer immersive demonstrations, such as racing simulation rigs and a large monitor wall. This allows customers to experience high-end technology firsthand before purchasing.
