Micropolis Robotics signs five-year autonomous sweeper deal with Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Micropolis AI Robotics announced on June 16, 2026, a five-year agreement with Abu Dhabi's Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) for the design, production, and maintenance of an autonomous urban cleaning ecosystem powered by Physical AI. This deal significantly expands the company's portfolio in the physical AI sector.

The project will begin with the deployment of autonomous mini-sweepers, featuring advanced perception systems, sensor fusion, and intelligent navigation. The initiative aims to establish a foundation for broader implementation of robotic services within Abu Dhabi's urban landscape. Micropolis highlights this as a demonstration of its vertically integrated Physical AI ecosystem, which combines robotics, software, edge computing, and fleet intelligence.

"Our partnership with the Department of Municipalities and Transport represents an important milestone in demonstrating how Physical AI can transform municipal operations and enable smarter, more efficient cities," said Fareed Aljawhari, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Micropolis. He added that the company remains focused on advancing its Physical AI ecosystem and expanding strategic partnerships as global demand for autonomous solutions accelerates.

The initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi and the UAE's ambition to lead in AI and autonomous technologies, supporting the UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031. Micropolis will also collaborate with Khalifa University to foster research and knowledge transfer in the field of Physical AI and autonomous robotics.
