Microsoft Adds Achievements to Original Xbox Games for PC
Microsoft is bringing its Achievement system to four original Xbox games now available on the Xbox PC platform. The feature will be expanded to more classic titles in the future.

Microsoft has announced the expansion of its Xbox backward compatibility feature to the Xbox PC platform, introducing the Achievement system to original Xbox titles. The first four games to receive this update are "Blinx: The Time Sweeper," "Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge," "Full Spectrum Warrior," and "Project Gotham Racing."
The Achievement system was first introduced in 2005 with the Xbox 360. Initially, players could also use Achievement points to unlock Xbox Avatar Awards, although this specific feature was later discontinued. The system aims to provide players with additional goals and recognition for their gameplay.
Microsoft has clarified that these new Achievements will not be retroactive. Players who have already completed challenges in these games before the system's implementation will need to replay and fulfill the requirements again to earn the Achievements.
This move signifies Microsoft's commitment to preserving and enhancing its classic game library for PC players. By adding modern features like Achievements, the company seeks to re-engage existing fans and attract new audiences to these seminal titles.
