Microsoft Announces Surface Laptop Ultra, RTX Spark Dev Box
Microsoft unveiled the Surface Laptop Ultra, its new Nvidia RTX Spark-powered laptop, starting at $2,599 with an October 16th release. It features magnetic USB-C charging.

Microsoft announced its new Surface Laptop Ultra during an event in San Francisco, with pricing beginning at $2,599. The device is scheduled for release on October 16th and is powered by Nvidia's RTX Spark Arm-based chip. The base configuration includes an 8-core CPU, 24GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
A notable change for the Surface line is the adoption of magnetic USB-C charging, replacing the proprietary Surface Connect magnetic charging port. This shift aims to standardize charging methods across devices.
Additionally, Microsoft revealed the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a mini PC targeted at developers. Preorders are now open for the Dev Box at $5,999, with shipping expected in November.
The company also detailed upcoming Windows updates, including "Hybrid Intelligence" features that allow Copilot to interact with local PC files to perform actions. A new search experience will enable quick actions directly from the search bar. The Muse application is also coming to Windows.
